Some trimming put on the rear shelf and then stained.
An early birthday present/Christmas present get the stools in play.

ReplyDeleteI love that bar. My wife has wanted a bar for years so I have studied these pictures over and over. Last weekend built the bottom frame. Will be adding the uprights and the flooring this weekend maybe even the lower shelf. Thank you so much for posting this hope you have had many years of joy with it.

Just build to your size and dimensions. Study the pics and make your own. I too agree that this is the greatest home bar to build. My wife and I have spent 6 months building this and are just done. We are going to use poly for the shine,
ReplyDeleteIn America those tiles would be 18 inches. So count from there and guess the last tile at about half. But really just go with a 6 foot front and all the rest will come to you.. Dale
ReplyDeleteWish I could post the picture of our bar here but can't Just know that I studied Brandon's pictures over and over again. I have never built anything in my life but our Bar came out exceptional. It took 6 months and it looks great.

ReplyDeleteAs you can see the front 2 by 4 is where you start. Looking at Brand's tiles I concluded that in California those tile would be right about 18 inches. I counted the tiles and by measurement came up with about a 6 foot front of the bar. Because of my space I went with 6 foot 4 inches for my front 2 by 4. Remember you are just building the frame at this point.
ReplyDeleteSo you have your front 2 by 4 cut between 6 foot and 6 foot 5 somewhere in that area.
Next piece: 2 foot piece of 2 by 4 now what you want to do is cut that two foot piece on each end at a 45 degree angle. Basically cut the first end from the outside to the inside. Look at the 2 by 4 and cut from the left corner in. Now use a drill. Butt the 45 degree cut up against your front piece of 2 by 4 and screw some small holes into the two pieces of 2 by 4. now put a philips head screw bit into your drill and screw the screws into the wood to hold those pieces together.
Now add the trailing back 2 by 4 piece. Remember that the other side of your 2 foot piece needs to be at a 45 cut from the outer right hand corner coming back to you.
Now you have the front, the 45 turn and the finish piece going back to your depth. My 3rd piece or depth piece is 32 inches or 2 foot 8 inches.
Now study Brands pictures to finish the frame. Remember to leave space for a small refrigerator. If you own one measure it so you know how much space to leave. If you don't own one go to Walmart and get the measurements off of the box. They always print them on the outside of the box.

ReplyDeleteThe front 2 by four is 6 feet long. Then run the front "side" board of the bar as far back as you would like the bar to go back. In the middle cut 45 degree angles on both sides and join the two front pieces of 2 by 4 together. Now add the back pieces.
